WWA MASTERS WEIGHTLIFTING IN 2010 – BY WWA MASTERS COORDINATOR GRACE MORRISON
The National Masters Weightlifting for 2010 will be held on Sunday June 27th 2010 at "The Chandler Theatre, Sleeman Sports Complex, Corner Cleveland & Tilly Roads, Chandler, Queensland.
The Official Entry Form for this event is available from me at gracemorrison@bigpond.com or by going to the AWF website. The AWF website is: www.awf.com.au Go to Masters. There is also information regarding accommodation and a map for this event under the Masters.
There is no qualifying total required to compete in this event. This event is an excellent opportunity to meet other Masters Weightlifters from all over Australia and see the standard of other States in Australia. It will also give you the opportunity for greater competition.
At this late stage if you intend competing in this event you need to get your entry in as soon as possible to Lawrie Townsend, National Masters Chairman at 182 Tufnell Road, Banyo Queensland 4014. Entries must reach his desk before Monday 24th May 2010.

WWA will be well represented by Masters Weightlifters, Brendan Kennedy, Peter Phillips and Graeme Anderson. Bob Pavone of OSST Club will be attending in a coaching capacity for Graham.

The 2010 IWF World Masters Weightlifting Championships is to be held in Ciechanow, Poland on September 18th to – 25th September 2010.
An entry form can be downloaded for the http://www.iwfmasters.net/ web site under Schedules
The closing date for this completion is June 30th 2010 but the entry form will need to be in the hands of the National Masters Chairman well in advance of this date. All entries have to be checked and verified by Lawrie Townsend, therefore I suggest you get your entry in as soon as possible. Send your entry to: Lawrie Townsend, National Masters Chairman at 182 Tufnell Road, Banyo Queensland 4014.
All Athletes must be members of their National Federation and be nominated by their
National Federation as eligible to compete and meet the 2010 Qualifying Standards.
WWA’s Brendan Kennedy and I will be competing in this event in Poland.
